The Human Design mirror

Human Design reads a birth as an energy mechanic: not what you are like, but how you are built to make decisions and where you take in other people. It uses two moments, your birth and a point about three months before it, and maps both onto 64 gates and nine centres.

Two things carry most of the weight. Your type tells you how your energy is meant to move, and your authority tells you where a real yes actually registers in your body. One correctness note: this chart uses the true osculating lunar node rather than the mean node, which is the more accurate position and which can change a gate outright.

Type
One of five: Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Manifestor, Reflector. Determined by which centres are defined and how they connect.
Strategy
What each type does instead of forcing. Generators respond, Projectors wait to be recognised, Manifestors inform before acting, Reflectors take a lunar cycle.
Authority
Where your decision actually lands: the sacral gut response, the emotional wave over time, the splenic instant knowing, and so on. Not your mind.
Defined and open centres
A defined centre runs its energy consistently and always has. An open centre takes in and amplifies whatever the people around you are feeling there, which is sensitivity before it becomes wisdom.
Profile
Two numbers, like 2/4 or 6/2, from the lines of your Sun at both moments. The costume the type wears.
How to read the bodygraph
The nine shapes
Centres. A filled one is defined, meaning it works the same way in you reliably. An empty one is open, meaning it takes its character from whoever you are with.
The lines between them
Channels. A channel only colours in when both of its ends are activated in your chart.
Two colours
One for personality, the activations you tend to recognise in yourself, and one for design, the ones that run without your noticing. The legend under the chart names them.
The numbers on the edges
Gates. Each channel has one at each end, and the numbers are the same 64 that the Gene Keys use.

Start here. Count the filled centres before anything else. Open centres are where you are most influenced by the room, and that is usually the more useful half of the chart.
