The arc of Key 37

Weakness is the bargain where you make yourself smaller to keep the bond. Equality is friendship and family conducted between equals, and Tenderness is the warmth that becomes possible once nobody is managing anybody.

The two poles of Weakness

A Shadow is never only one behaviour. Each has a repressive pole, where the energy collapses inward, and a reactive pole, where it fires outward. Most people live mainly in one and visit the other under stress, and recognising which is yours is where the contemplation actually starts.

Repressed, it makes itself small to keep the bond. Reactive, it enforces the bargain and calls the enforcement loyalty.

Working with Weakness

Weakness and Equality are not two different energies. They are the same one at two frequencies, which is why the instruction is never to replace weakness with equality. You watch weakness run, without arguing with it, until it stops being automatic. What is on the other side of that watching is equality, and tenderness is the same thing again with nothing personal left in it.

Programming partner: Gene Key 40

Key 37 is paired with Key 40, which runs Exhaustion to Resolve to Divine Will. Partners sit opposite each other on the wheel of 64 and always move together, so weakness and exhaustion tend to show up in the same person, in the same week, feeding each other.

The useful way to read the pair: when equality is hard to reach, the block is often sitting in exhaustion rather than anywhere in Key 37. And resolve is usually what makes equality sustainable rather than occasional. Contemplating one without the other is the most common way this system gets used badly.

Where Key 37 sits in the body

The Gene Keys share their 64 gates with Human Design, so Key 37 is also gate 37 in a bodygraph. It sits in the Solar Plexus, emotional waves, and it completes one channel, with gate 40.
