The arc of Key 60

Limitation is the constraint experienced only as a wall. Realism is working with the actual shape of the constraint, and Justice is discovering that the constraint was the structure creativity needed.

The two poles of Limitation

A Shadow is never only one behaviour. Each has a repressive pole, where the energy collapses inward, and a reactive pole, where it fires outward. Most people live mainly in one and visit the other under stress, and recognising which is yours is where the contemplation actually starts.

Repressed, it accepts the limit as the whole story. Reactive, it rages at the limit rather than working with it.

Working with Limitation

Limitation and Realism are not two different energies. They are the same one at two frequencies, which is why the instruction is never to replace limitation with realism. You watch limitation run, without arguing with it, until it stops being automatic. What is on the other side of that watching is realism, and justice is the same thing again with nothing personal left in it.

Programming partner: Gene Key 56

Key 60 is paired with Key 56, which runs Distraction to Enrichment to Intoxication. Partners sit opposite each other on the wheel of 64 and always move together, so limitation and distraction tend to show up in the same person, in the same week, feeding each other.

The useful way to read the pair: when realism is hard to reach, the block is often sitting in distraction rather than anywhere in Key 60. And enrichment is usually what makes realism sustainable rather than occasional. Contemplating one without the other is the most common way this system gets used badly.

Where Key 60 sits in the body

The Gene Keys share their 64 gates with Human Design, so Key 60 is also gate 60 in a bodygraph. It sits in the Root, pressure and drive, and it completes one channel, with gate 3.
